Brac is the largest island in the central-Dalmatian region, and the third largest of all the islands in the Croatian Adriatic. It is divided from the mainland by the Channel of Brac, to the west it is divided from Solta by the „Gate of Split“. The highest peak (Vidova Gora – 778 meters) is at the same time the highest insular peak on the Adriatic.

The coastline of Brac measures 172 kilometers and is divided into numerous bays and beaches. The most popular beaches are "Lovrecina" in the northern part of the island and the famous "Zlatni rat" in the southern part. The island is daily connected with mainland (ferry harbours: Split and Makarska) not less then 15 times. The nearest airport is Split-Kastela ( 25km far from Split ferry harbour), as well as Brac airport for smaller air-crafts.
Charming old village named Skrip only 10km away from Supetar ferry port having unique position on a hill looking down over fabulous sea views. The village of Skrip is absolutely delightful with a collection of old stone houses with wooden shutters; it is the oldest place on the Island and has just 200 inhabitants; it dates from the Antic period hundreds of years before Christ and you can still find stone blocks from the Monolithic Age. There is a famous Museum by the Church of St.Helena in the village where you can find a lot of pictures and artefacts presenting the history of island Brac. Also, here you can visit the castle of Cerinic and the tower of Radojkovic.The surrounding area is well known for growing fruit, grape, olive and vegetables. There is a local grocery in the village and can provide you with everyday needs. For a better range of shops , bars and excellent restaurants you can go to Splitska (5km) or Supetar (10km).
